Boulder Progressives' candidate committee fund spends 100% of its dollars to elect our endorsed candidates for City Council and Mayor. Our committee will get the word out through emails, social media, and with our annual door-to-door lit drop which will bring information about our candidates and values to 30,000 Boulder households. Speaking of the election literature drop, we also need volunteers! 2026 is a massive election year with tons of candidates and issues on the ballot. You can make a big impact up and down the ballot by helping us inform more voters.

Our 2026 Mayor and City Council Candidates

For City Council, Boulder Progressives is supporting Aaron Brockett.

Aaron Brockett

Boulder Progressives is proud to re-endorse Aaron Brockett for Mayor. Mayor Brockett’s leadership and vision align with the organization’s commitment to a more affordable, sustainable, and inclusive Boulder. Aaron Brockett is Boulder's first directly elected mayor, capping a decade of service that began on the city's Planning Board and continued through eight years on City Council. As mayor, he's championed climate resilience, housing affordability, and public engagement. Aaron is running for reelection to keep pushing on the city's budget challenges, homelessness, and wildfire resilience, and to ensure we are creating a Boulder that can pass the test of time.

For City Council, Boulder Progressives is supporting six outstanding candidates who represent a broad spectrum of lived experiences and who bring an impressive depth of understanding and solutions-driven ideas to the issues facing Boulder today.

Ryan Schuchard

Ryan Schuchard is a climate leader completing his first term on Boulder City Council after two decades advancing climate solutions across the country. Ryan has championed reliable transit, wildfire protection, and workers' wages while serving on the city's Long-Term Financial Strategies committee to make Boulder's budget work harder for everyone. A father of two raising his kids in BVSD schools, Ryan brings a hands-on commitment to making Boulder work for families today and generations to come.

Tina Marquis

Tina Marquis has a long history of leadership in the city and community of Boulder, after eight years of serving on the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education (including six years as board president), she is now completing her first term on city council. Tina’s strong commitment to transparency and government accountability are a breath of fresh air. Tina has been a deciding vote on many important progressives issues, and has a long record as a champion of trans rights, women’s rights, and support of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Sam Fuqua

Sam Fuqua comes to this race with a long history of service, including eight years on the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education including serving as president, five years of service as a Boulder Library Commissioner prior to the formation of the Library District, and another term after its formation, and almost a decade as the station manager at KGNU radio. Sam has a strong commitment to a Boulder that better meets the needs of all people.

Rachel Rose Isaacson

Rachel Rose Isaacson is running to become Boulder's first Gen Z City Council member, bringing systems-level thinking and a fresh voice to the table. A renter and barista at South Side Walnut Café, Rachel holds a master's in public administration and leadership. Rachel is an advocate for climate resilience, affordable housing, and stronger support for workers.

Jill Adler Grano

Jill Adler Grano, a former member of Boulder City Council, is Boulder's first-ever openly LGBTQ councilmember. As lead staffer for Congressman Joe Neguse's "Housing Our Communities" legislation, and with years as a residential real estate broker before that, Jill's experience and education on housing have made her an even more insightful leader than before. She's a strong advocate for city policies that put people first and make Boulder more welcoming for everyone.

Jamillah Richmond

Boulder Progressives recommends Jamillah Richmond, a past member of the Boulder Progressives Board, who entered the City Council race after our endorsement process had concluded. Boulder Progressives enthusiastically supports her serving on Boulder's City Council. Jamillah has extensive experience serving on BVSD's District Accountability Committee and executive team, serving as a member of the City of Boulder's BVCP Community Assembly focused on making Boulder more accessible, and working on several nonprofit boards and organizations. She is passionate about education, affordable housing, a more accountable city government, and meaningful police oversight.

These seven incredible candidates represent the breadth of progressive politics and bring with them unmatched experience and knowledge. This is not only the strongest slate that Boulder Progressives has ever supported, we believe it is the strongest the city has seen in recent memory.
